Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy of Thyroid Nodules

A fine needle aspiration biopsy of a thyroid nodule is performed under ultrasound guidance. The very thin needle is used to withdraw cells from a suspected thyroid nodule. After the procedure, the sample cells will be examined under a microscope to make a diagnosis.
